Recent news about using radiation on spinach and lettuce was apparently my tipping point. Although now I'm reading more about this sort of thing there have been plenty of other things that are just as bad that should have prompted me to change.In any case I have about 4000 sq ft I could use. Granted its on a pretty steep hill. I'm thinking of starting with a few small raised flower beds and see how that works out. That much land would grow more then my family needs so I don't think I will use that much of it. I will likely plant some ornamental local plants to look nice and be water efficient. Better then the weeds that are currently on it.I'll post some photos of my front yard and will hopefully get some ideas from you all about what I can do there. I have a grass in the front and back. Probably about about 2000 sq ft. I would like to replace 1500 of it with local plants. I have a large dog and a small child so I need to leave a some area for playing and running around.
