Main Crops Right now I only have one peach tree, a plum tree, some blueberry bushes, raspberries, and a few strawberries. I have set up an area where there are some raised beds in the front yard and hope to grow a variety of produce for my first year. I would love to try potatoes as well as the usual, tomatoes, peas, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, squash, melons, etc. I would like to expand the front yard garden to fit more food crops and flowers for a true cottage garden. I would love to have anyone with experience come and help me plan out the garden and planting. Any takers?!! : ) All are welcome.

I buy the large Aloe vera fronds/spears in the grocery stor and remove the gel. I put the gell in the blender and add whatever conditioner I used to it, it can also be used on its own. After blending just used as rinse. Keep in the fridge.

I purchased some raised beds from www.gardenraisedbeds.com in Vermont. They are made of Vermont white cedar very light weight and super rot resistant. They go together with mortise and tenon so no tools needed. I love them and looked at ALOT before deciding on these. There are photos on my photo page as I couldn't figure out how to post them here from my folder.

I purchased some raised beds made of Vermont white cedar. They are naturally very rot resistant and super light to move around. They go together with mortise and tenon so no tools for assembly. take a look (www.gardenraisedbeds.com) for more information. I love them they were the nicest and best "I thought" I found on the market for raised beds.

After planning to create my garden in the back yard I have had to move the production to the front yard even after having a neighbors tree pruned that gave too much shade over the planned permanent raised bed. The neighbor wasn't very happy(big big understatement) even though 75% of the tree was lerching over onto our property. When my neighbor learned that I had pruned because I wanted to plant a vegetable garden she proceeded to lecture me on how a vegetable garden would do nothing for my property value, and grilled me on why it was that I wanted it in exactly that specific area. Well, long story short I have moved my great plan all to the front yard where she'll really have to look at it. I have not spoken to her since the early fall. I can only imagine what she was thinking when she saw the new raise beds and fencing going up right smack in the middle of the front yard "evil chuckle". With all that said would love to combine a nice cottage garden into the entire scheme with lots of edibls. Right no we have a peaceh tree, plum, blueberry and rasberries and some strawberries.
