Family We were a small family consisting of myself, my daughter, Roxy a very tiny little mutt of unknown origin (the vicious one) and Bruno,the most loving German Shepard ever but now we typically have an addition six girls living with us as we run a boarding house in our home for local high school girls.
About Me I grew up in Zimbabwe and left as soon as I was old enough. Got old enough to realize that I will always be an African at heart and moved back after 18 years in the States in the hopes that I could be part of a positive change for our country. So far I can only be a positive change in my garden! The only thing that keeps me sane in Zimbabwe's political and economical situation is digging in my garden!!
Interests Love gardening! Focusing on my poor soil at the moment - so compost making and mulching has become a bit of an obsession!! Vegetables have to be a priority at the moment but also building up our collection of herbs, fruits and flowers. Also enjoying cooking, canning and preserving. I have done a lot of canning and preserving with my mom and I think with my harvest this year I am going to try going it alone! Used to make a lot of bread as it couldn't be bought in Zimbabwe but have gotten lazy since we can now buy it - even have a choice of white or wheat! :) Would love to learn to make cheese! Also interested in growing mushrooms but having a problem finding spore in Zimbabwe. Am/Was an avid Kayaker and kayaked every weekend when I lived in North Carolina. Since we moved to Zimbabwe just over a year ago I haven't made it to the Zambezi for some good white water kayaking but hope to soon.
