  So have you all started your garden planning for this year yet? I'm going to put in a strawberry bed.I've got my early vegetables all planned out the swiss chard and kale and cabbages etc. still waiting on spring to see how the trees fared the winter.

  We here in Colorado are starting our plans. Putting a strawberry bed too in addition to making the over all garden bigger. There are places all over the yard as well that we want to grow things. Guess we need to sit down and map it out and get those seeds ordered. I was shocked at the dismal choice in seeds in our local greenhouses and garden centers not to mention the cost of live plants. Wow.

  Hi Anna. good to see you here . I am starting to wake up too!
  We moved in November (just a few miles from town) and have been under snow since December so I haven't been able to stare at the land and envision in the same way as when the earth is clear. But we are a few miles out of town now, off the city lot with a little more space. I am excited to put a bigger food garden in. A new septic was put in as we were moving in so I had them move some soil around while the steam shovel was here. I have some beautiful raised beds now. My first plan is to get some composted manure spread on the beds, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
  If only this snow would melt......
  
  Jude, I have been growing heirlooms as much as possible and collecting my own seeds, making my own starts from cuttings and thinnings, etc.My garden center bills are getting smaller with each passing year. But then there is that 'something' I have to have and can't get anywhere else...
